يروي المسلسل قصة الرجل العصامي علي بيك الذي نذر حياته لتربية أبنائه على القيم والأخلاق الحسنة. ويعمل علي بيك قائم مقام وتمكن من توفير حياة رغيدة لعائلته إلى أن تعرض لضغوط شديدة تجبره على التغاضي عن قضايا تمس حقوق الآخرين. لكن قيمه أقوى من الضغوط المادية فقرر الاستقالة والانتقال بعائلته إلى إسطنبول.
وبعد ترميم بيت العائلة وتسجيل ابنته في الجامعة ومواجهته لموقف مشابه في عمله الجديد واستقالته مرة أخرى، تزداد ضغوط الحياة على علي بيك وتدخل عائلته في ضائقة مادية خانقة. فما السبيل أمام من اختار القيم والأخلاق وأعاصير الحياة تهب في وجهه والأوراق المتساقطة تملأ ناظريه.
